Easy In the pan Macaroni and Cheese

This is the easiest macaroni and cheese dish I found years ago. It is a real comfort food without a lot of time and effort spent in the kitchen.

  • 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni (yes uncooked!!)

  • 3 ½ cups milk

  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

  • Up to ¼ cup grated onion

  • 2 ½ cups shredded Cheddar cheese (I like Extra Sharp or Sharp)

  • Paprika

In a well-greased casserole stir together the uncooked macaroni, the milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt and 1 ½ cups of the cheese until well mixed.

Cover tightly with foil or if you have a heavy top to the casserole use that.

Bake in a 350F oven for 50 minutes. Remove foil. Stir well

Cover with the other 1 cup of cheese and sprinkle with paprika.

Return to oven and bake 10 or 15 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.

Let stand a few minutes before serving so it can cool and set.

Serve with Baked Tomatoes and Fresh Herbs on the side or on top
